Questions people actually ask
Why does it refuse to tell me how I am doing?
By design. Med-Mind does not score, rate or assess anyone — see the overview for why. If you want an assessment, that is a conversation for a clinician, and it is a reasonable thing to want.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to.
Why is there a download?
So the app can generate replies without sending anything to a server. Newer iPhones can do this using the model built into iOS and need no download. Older ones download ours once — about 328 MB — and then work offline permanently. You are always told before anything downloads.
Can I use it with no signal?
Yes, in “On this phone” mode. Chat, your journal, and the emergency card all work in flight mode.
Where is my journal stored, and can you read it?
Encrypted on your phone. We cannot read it. We do not have a copy.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app. There is no server-side data to clear afterwards.
What happens if I tell it something serious?
If it detects that you may be in danger, it stops reflecting, says so plainly, and shows a button to call emergency services. It will not try to counsel you through a crisis, because it is not able to and pretending otherwise would be dangerous.
Is it available in Vietnamese?
Not yet. Med-Action ships English and Vietnamese equally, and we intend the same here, but generated reflective writing has to be good in a language before we will claim to support it.
