Delete your account
Two different things, and most people only need the first.
Your journal
Everything you write stays on your phone. We hold no copy, which is why we cannot read it and cannot recover it for you.
To delete it: delete the app. Your journal goes with it, along with the on-device companion. Nothing is left behind on our side, because nothing was ever there. If you want to keep a copy first, use Save a backup file in Settings before you uninstall.
Your account, if you made one
An account exists only for people whose Online mode was granted by hand rather than bought — a tester, a family member. It holds an email address and a password, and nothing else: no journal text, no replies, no name.
In the app: Settings, then your email address, then Delete account. It is erased immediately and completely.
Without the app: message WhatsApp +84 904 879 900 from any device and ask for the account to be deleted, giving the email address you signed up with. It is done by hand, usually the same day.
Deleting the account does not delete your journal, and deleting the app does not delete the account. They are separate on purpose.
What we keep afterwards, and why
| Kept | Why |
|---|---|
| Nothing you wrote | We never had it. There is nothing to delete. |
| A purchase record, if you bought Plus | An identifier from Apple or Google, what was bought and when, plus a count of replies. No email, no name, nothing you wrote. Tax and refund rules require a record of a sale; this is the smallest one we could keep. Ask on WhatsApp and we will delete it once the refund window has passed. |
Cancelling a subscription is separate again, and is done in your Apple or Google account settings — we cannot do it for you.
